Everdale Carrot Fest!

What? Explore Everdale at this years Carrot FEST!, a celebration of healthy food and healthy living! It’s a day of farm crafts, exciting games, educational activities and more. Take part in the Harvest games and discover our Seed Saving Maze. Come bake in our earthen oven, make ice ream with fresh cows milk, and visit with our farm animals. We are thrilled to have award wining local Facepainting artist Tania of Makin' Faces back once again at Carrot FEST!. Tania will be bringing some exclusive carrot inspired designs to the festival to celebrate our favorite pointy, root vegetable! For adults we are offering a seed saving workshop and tours of Home Alive!TM, the straw bale demonstration home. Train to become a Labour Doula
When? This workshop runs from 9am to 5pm on Saturday September 12th & Sunday September 13th.
What? As a certified Labour Doula you will be working with a pregnant mom or couple, expecting a child, trying for a more natural route. Surf Dogs

Dogs are welcome to practise their doggy paddle and surf the waves one last time before the pool shuts down for the summer. St. George Apple Harvest Festival

Wellington Rural Romp

What? The Wellington Rural Romp is a free self guided tour of regional farms and markets. All the information you need to go on the Wellington Rural Romp and experience a day in the Countryside can be found on the 2009 Guelph Wellington Local Food Map. There is a description of what each location will be showcasing on the inside of the Map. Each location opens their doors to the public with lots to explore. Expect taste testing, entertainment, agricultural education, guided tours and children's activities. This is an opportunity for the young and old to meet local farmers and learn first hand about how local food is grown and raised. At each location there is a ballot to fill out to win valuable prizes including an overnight stay at Norfolk Inn and numerous gift certificates to restaurants, farms and attractions around the region. Maps for the Romp can be picked up at all Guelph and Wellington libraries, tourism offices, various retail locations or at any location on the Romp. Baby and Me Bellydancing

LEGO® WeDo™ Computer Class for ages 7 to 12
What? Presented by Kids Computer Fun. LEGO® Education WeDo™ is a new robotics concept that has recently been released. This class will provide a great opportunity for kids to get an introduction to simple robotics with this concept. In this class, kids will build LEGO® models of machines and animals. Then, students will learn to attach sensors and motors that are plugged into a computer, and configure their models’ behaviours to walk, make sounds and respond to commands using a simple programming tool. The activity pack that will be used throughout our sessions is divided into four themes that will each introduce the students to new engineering and basic programming concepts. Students will work in pairs.

In this 12 week class, children will have the exclusive use of a lap top computer loaded with fun, easy to use scrapbooking software programs and great templates for great projects. Parent and Baby Fit Swim
What? An energizing water exercise program that allows a parent (or another adult) to enjoy a work out with the baby in the shallow end of the pool. While the adult is exercising, the child is held or supported in the water - the adult will jog, stretch and tone for 45 minutes. The last 15 minutes is open swim for the participants to socialize and enjoy their child and the water. Child must be in swim diaper or suitable swim attire. Child will be kept within arms reach throughout class. Participants need not know how to swim. Only one child per adult permitted.
