Prenatal Health Fair

Prenatal health fairs are designed for parents planning a pregnancy in the future and for parents in early pregnancy. They offer over fifty displays, mini workshops, videos, pamphlets to take home, and access to care providers who will answer your questions. Future parents will learn how a healthy pregnancy helps build a healthy baby.

Owl Prowl

Bring the little ones out to experience the fun in our kitchen! At our 'Bring Your Child' Sessions, the kids are by your side helping to scoop, mix and assemble your meals. Enjoy coffee, juice and nut-free treats while you prepare your meals together. The parents say their kids just love eating the dishes they made themselves here at SupperWorks. It will take a about an hour to make 6 full sized meals. Each meal serves 4-6 people, and can be split into 12 meals that serve 2-3 people. Bring home 6 full sized meals for $168.

The Happy Prince

Worlds Largest Easter Egg Hunt
What?
Puck’s Farm celebrates the arrival of spring with Egg Games, Egg Races, Egg Scrambles and an all day Easter Egg Hunt. Pony rides, horse-drawn hay rides and newborn baby animals make this annual event a great spring time outing that the whole family will enjoy. The Easter Egg Hunt goes on all day long in the barn and barnyard.

La Leche League Monthly Meetings
What?
All women interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend monthly Group meetings. Anytime is a good time to come to a La Leche League meeting: when pregnant, with a new baby or when considering weaning. While a series of four meetings with the following topics is rotated throughout the year, the specific content varies significantly depending on the current focus and the needs of those present.

Walk-In Counselling Clinic
What?
The Walk-In Counselling Clinic serves two purposes: 1) as the “access” or intake point for most of our counselling services, and 2) at the client’s request, to provide a one and half hour single session to determine the nature of the problem and to leave with a plan to address the issue(s). Referral Process: No referral process is required for our Walk-In Counselling Clinic. Simply come to our office on Thursdays during our Walk-In Counselling Clinic hours. We endeavour to have clients seen as quickly as possible, and work on a first-come, first-served basis. If, however, a large influx of individuals come in late in the day we may have to ask people to return the following week. Wait times also vary according to the arrivals of clients.

Each season at the library there is a new session of great programs for children of all ages. Our free, drop in programs include:
Totstime: For children 2 years and younger with an adult caregiver. A fast-paced half hour of songs, rhymes and interactive activities.
Story Stars: For 3 to 5 year olds. A half hour program filled with exciting stories, rhymes, games and other great activities.
Storytime: For children of all ages. Children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult. A half hour program featuring music, stories, rhymes and activities.
Family Storytime: The entire family is welcome. Children under 3 must be accompanied by an adult. An active half hour of stories, rhymes, games and music.

Have you ever wondered how your child develops language, thought, and knowledge?
Daniela O'Neill and her students at the University of Waterloo's Centre for Child Studies are seeking answers to these questions!
We invite all parents of children aged 18 - 24 months, 5 - 6 years or 7 - 8 years who live in or near the Kitchener-Waterloo area to come for a one-time visit to the Centre to take part in one of our ongoing studies.
Even if your child does not fall into one of these age ranges we would love to hear from you, as the centre maintains a list of parents who are interested in participating in our studies. Once a new study begins, we contact parents with children in the age range of the study. At that time, we explain the study in detail and, if you are interested, a convenient time for your visit is arranged. We welcome visits on weekdays or weekends!

Presented by Belly Buttons. Meet us on Wednesday mornings for 1 hour of calorie burning fun as we walk/run around the track at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. In addition to cardio, we use resistance bands and our body weight to tone our muscles and to get back our pre-baby shape. Any fitness level is welcome and you are encouraged to work at your own pace. Workout with your baby and meet other new moms. It is a great reason to get out of the house and do something positive for yourself. Drop in or sign up for an 8 week session.

Presented by Skipping Stones Developmental Therapy Services. This is a fun, weekly,group therapy program for children who may have Autism Spectrum Disorder or Asperger's Syndrome. Participants bring along a similar aged friend or relative, as research shows that children with these special needs learn better from their peers. Through positive social scenarios, these children will work on developing their social skills to create yummy treats. Occupational Therapists and Speech-Language Pathologists support the participants in learning important social skills and sensory strategies to be successful at making friends. Participants must register prior to program start, all registrations must be received by March 1, 2010. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required as part of the registration.
