Meadowlane Public School Fun Fair
When? Wednesday, June 3rd from 5pm – 8 pm
What?
Fun Fairs are Fun! If you are a kid or are just young at heart, the idea of rides, games, prizes and food on a beautiful sunny day would elicit a little adrenaline rush. OK, it is not Canada’s Wonderland but you also do not need to invest as much time and money as you would at that mammoth park. This Fun Fair only runs for 3 hours on a week day, injecting some excitement into your week. It gets you out playing with your kids.
This year, there will be a Ferris Wheel, Kiddie Striker, Circus Obstacle, Bouncer and more. Games and prizes for kids 13 and under will surely entertain your family. A silent auction along with basket raffles to satisfy those of us who like to shop, the fire department, Kitchener Rangers and Air brush tattoos round out some of the entertainment.
How much? Tickets are $1.00 for 4 or $10 for 50.

St Marys Storytelling Festival - The Frog Festival
When? Friday, June 5 & Saturday, June 6, 2009
What?
Make way for FROGS! The St. Marys Storytelling Festival, “Once Upon a Thames” is coming the first weekend in June. The theme this year is Frogs. Frog stories appear in almost every culture in the world; there will be frog stories, frog songs, frog masks, frog games, frog folktales and hopefully some real frogs too! Visitors will also have an opportunity to hear two VERY different versions of the classic tale, The Frog Prince. Friday from 7 to 8:30pm is the Family Concert in the big tent featuring froggy storytelling, and music by Erick Traplin. First thing Saturday morning, two Tellers will be at the downtown Farmer’s Market; and from 2:00 to 4:30 at the Flats visitors can hear ongoing storytelling in the large tent, tell their own tales at a story swap, sign up for a session in the environmental tent to learn more about real frogs, make hop-a-long origami frogs and participate in frog crafts and games. Saturday evening, from 8 to 10pm, the Frog Concert, featuring lots more froggy storytelling, and music by the Michael Earnie Taylor Orchestra, will be held in the big tent on the Flats. spOtlight: Opening Ceremony

What?
Join us for the launch of spOtlight Festival taking place in tandem with the inauguration of the much-anticipated Waterloo Public Square. Ontario's Minister of Culture, Aileen Carroll, will be there with Ontario Arts Council Vice-Chair Mary Lue Hinds, City of Waterloo Deputy Mayor Jan d'Ailly, MPP for Kitchener-Conestoga Leeanna Pendergast and other dignitaries. Let's all come together for a celebration of the arts. The launch includes the official unveilign of Royden Rabinowitch's sculpture Bell for Kepler in its permanent home, songs by jazz singer Diane Nalini and a performance by flamenco dance troupe Sol y Sombra.

Interactive Toy Piano Workshop

Members of Laurier’s keyboard faculty Elaine Lau and Joseph Ferretti, along with toy pianist Stephanie Chua, will present works for toy piano and lead attendees in interactive improvisation activities on toy instruments. READYMAKE!

ART+ALE+BBQ = FUN! READYMAKE is a collaborative gesture of art making centred on the idea of community celebration. The installation will be a 3D collage constructed from the personal photographs, objects, pieces of clothing etc that participants bring with them! Together this will create a portrait of the community as an impromptu temporary installation. Lead by Guelph artist Susan Detwiler, this massive installation is something you cannot miss! There will also be open mic so bring your guitar, recite poetry, and enjoy the cash barbeque and bar and fun that is sure to ensue! Admission is free so bring your stuff and READYMAKE!

Bring Your Child Session at SupperWorks!

Bring the little ones out to experience the fun in our kitchen! At our 'Bring Your Child' Sessions, the kids are by your side helping to scoop, mix and assemble your meals. Enjoy coffee, juice and nut-free treats while you prepare your meals together. The parents say their kids just love eating the dishes they made themselves here at SupperWorks. It will take a about an hour to make 6 full sized meals. Each meal serves 4-6 people, and can be split into 12 meals that serve 2-3 people. Due to popular demand we have added a second 'Bring Your Child' Session to each month!

Wallypalooza! Annual Festival of Music and Entertainment

Open House

Strawberry Festival

La Franco-fête of the AFKW

When? The 6-week summer session begins on Tuesday, June 23 in Guelph and Thursday June 25 in Kitchener
What?
You and your child or children will experience 45 minutes of pure fun whilst we sing, dance, chant, explore music and play-a-long (lots of fun) together in a rich musical environment. Children (and adults) flourish in our non-pressurised and non-performance orientated classes; children are not required to sit still; rather, they are encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment.
