Bring Your Child Session at SupperWorks!

Bring the little ones out to experience the fun in our kitchen! At our 'Bring Your Child' Sessions, the kids are by your side helping to scoop, mix and assemble your meals. Enjoy coffee, juice and nut-free treats while you prepare your meals together. Parents say their kids love eating the dishes they made themselves here at SupperWorks. It will take about an hour to make 6 full sized meals. Each meal serves 4-6 people, and can be split into 12 meals that serve 2-3 people.

Cross-Country Skiing

What?
Come and try cross country skiing on the 8 km of groomed ski trails that form several loops throughout the park and cater to all skill levels, from beginner to those looking for a challenge. While out on the trails, you will travel through various snow covered habitats which are the home of various species of wildlife, which you may also see or hear along your travels. Full ski equipment rentals are available for the day. Free admission to the conservation area.

Interpretive Snowshoe Hike
When? Saturday, January 30, 2010 from 1 - 2:30 pm
What?
Enjoy the winter weather, by trying snowshoeing. It is as easy as walking and with minimal instruction anyone can enjoy a winter walk through the woods. You will learn about the history and how snowshoes have evolved. You will then have the opportunity to strap on a pair of snowshoes and join in on a 2km guided snowshoe hike through the park looking at sights and sounds of the wildlife that share the park with its visitors. Snowshoeing and Winter Plant ID

What?
Learn the ancient art of snowshoeing on snow-packed fields and forests. We will also be doing some trail side botany and identifying trees and plants in the winter. Walk-In Counselling Clinic
What?
The Walk-In Counselling Clinic serves two purposes: 1) as the “access” or intake point for most of our counselling services, and 2) at the client’s request, to provide a one and half hour single session to determine the nature of the problem and to leave with a plan to address the issue(s). Referral Process: No referral process is required for our Walk-In Counselling Clinic. Simply come to our office on Thursdays during our Walk-In Counselling Clinic hours. We endeavour to have clients seen as quickly as possible, and work on a first-come, first-served basis. If, however, a large influx of individuals come in late in the day we may have to ask people to return the following week. Wait times also vary according to the arrivals of clients.

Expression and Exploration: Adventures in Music Begins
What?
This exciting new 12 week program is designed for 7 to 9-year-olds looking to discover music through creative hands-on activities. No previous musical training is required, just a sense of curiosity. In this program, children will explore musical elements such as pitch, melody, form, dynamics, timbre, texture, and orchestration. Instrument-making workshops, solo and group playing, group improvisations, movement activities, and musical games are all on the agenda! LEGO® WeDo™ Computer Class for Kids ages 7-12
What?
This class provides an opportunity for kids ages 7 to 12 to get an introduction to simple robotics. Kids will build LEGO models of machines and animals using LEGO blocks and then attach to sensors and motors that are plugged in the computer. This way, they are able to configure their models' behaviors to walk, make sounds, and respond to commands.

Typing Class for Kids ages 7-12
What?
Teaching children touch typing skills is an essential life-long skill that is a part of a successful education. We teach children keyboarding skills through the use of several excellent children's typing software programs. Most children start our class with a typing speed of 3-5 WPM and advance rapidly to reach 12-30+ WPM by the end of our program.

This 6-week stoneware pottery course lets children come and get dirty, while laughing and playing.
